Admission
in class VI in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are made through national
level competitive examination conducted by Central Board of Secondary
Education
in the month of February, known as JNVST(Jawahar Navodaya
Vidyalya Selection Test). The merit is prepared on the
district basis. Number of seats in class VI are 80
but it can be vary due to accommodation or any other reason.
Children
are also being admitted against the vacant seats in class IX
and in class XI through regional level
examination and marks in the previous qualifying examination
respectively.
Who is eligible for JNVST :
Only the students of studying in class 5th of Jalore district and
he/she reads in any Govt./Govt. aided/Govt. recognized/SSA School.
He also passed class 3rd and 4th in consecutive years
without any gap. His
age must be between the age group
9-13 years on 1st May of the year of admission for which the
Selection Test is conducted. This applies to all categories
of candidates including those who belong to the Scheduled
Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
A
candidate who is not promoted to Class-V before November of
the preceding academic year of which the test conducted is
not eligible to apply. No candidate is allowed to appear in
the selection test for the second time under any
circumstances. A candidate seeking admission under the rural
quota must have studied and passed III, IV & V from
recognized school(s) located in the rural areas.
75% of the seats in district are filled by candidates
selected from rural areas and remaining seats are filled
from the urban areas of the district Jalore.

For Class IX (Lateral Entry):
Only those candidates are
eligible for the selection test who have studied or studying
in Class VIII in one of the Govt./Govt. recognized schools
of the Jalore district. In age there is no relaxation for
any category. The other details are available along with
prospectus cum application form.
For Class XI (Lateral Entry):
Admission of students will be
made against available vacancies in class XI on the basis of
marls secured by the students in class X board.
Availability of Forms:
Generally forms for class 6th are available in the month of
September. For class IX these are available in the month of
May every year and for class XI are available in June. Admission notice is also published in the leading
newspapers. Admission forms can be obtained from the BEO
offices of Jalore district, DEO office, any Govt. Primary
School or Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalya Jaswantpura (Jalore). It
can also be downloaded from our web site. These forms
filled in all respect should be submitted in the office of
concerned BEO.
Admit Cards, duly prepared by the Principal, Jawahar
Navodaya Vidyalaya Jaswantpura will be issued to the
candidates through the concerned Block Education
Officer. Candidates who do not receive their Admit Card one
week before the JNVST should immediately contact Principal,
JNV/BEO/DEO for the same.
Test centers for class VI are
spread over in the Jalore district but for class IX
is only JNV Jaswantpura.
Result of Entrance Exam will be
displayed in the last week of May in Navodaya vidyalya Jaswantpura, District Education
Officer Jalore, District Magistrate Office Jalore. Result of
JNVST is also displayed on
http://www.navodaya.gov.in
Result of the Selection Test
for class IX and XI will be notified on the Vidyalaya Notice
Board as well as published in local newspapers.
Selected candidates will also be intimated by post.
Selection in the test will not vest any right on the
candidates to secure admission into the JNV. At the time of
seeking actual admission, each selected candidate will have
to produce all relevant certificates as prescribed by the
Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. Until admission, the selection
is provisional.
In
case of any dispute the decision of the Principal shall be
final and binding on the candidate.
